CAM's Program
What is CAM 's?
CAM 's is a mentoring program that introduces senators to cabinet members and their duties as cabinet. All 8 cabinet members participate in the program with how ever many senators wishing to participate as well. CAM 's is an all volunteer program; if you do not wish to participate there are no punishments. Those who do participate will be rewarded throughout the year with gifts and other fun activities.
What does the program offer?
CAM 's are there to give senators a chance to participate in community events as well as events that happen on campus. CAM 's was devolved top help senators become closer to the cabinet to better understand the processes that are present in RHA and in other organizations throughout campus. One of the main priorities CAM 's will be focusing on this year is to mentor junior high and high school students that are in the need of some guidance. The CAM groups will help the students with any school work they may need help in, and participate in activities that range from baseball games to movie nights.
Who is my mentor?
Senators will be paired with a cabinet member initially based off a survey that you will fill out during Fall Hall. This survey will ask open ended questions to find out as much as possible through paper about the senators and cabinet. Cabinet will fill out the same survey and based on common interests and opposing majors the two will be paired. This survey is important to be honest and as open as possible so that we can get the best possible match.
What is the commitment for the program?
As stated before this is a volunteer program, so simply put what
you put in it is what you get out of it. The time you put forth is limited
to 10 hours over the entire semester plus the hours we spend with the students
from the local school district.
Incentives?
Those who participate in CAM 's will be given various gifts/ prizes throughout the year for the accomplishments in hours and activities.
